Teaching Experience

Paterson Public Schools, 2007 – Present

-         Academy of Performing Arts; grades 5-8 (2007 – 2008, 2009-present)

  • Instrumental Music Teacher, Lead Teacher- Arts Faculty
    • Lead band program in all aspects: direct ensembles, teach lessons, compose and arrange music, schedule concerts at school and in community, design programs for concerts, manage budget for supplies.  Teach music theory. Lead Arts Staff Common Planning Time.
  • Professional Learning Community Grant Member
    • Secretary and member of a Professional Learning Community designed to improve Language Arts skills in sixth grade students by incorporating the Fine and Performing Arts.
  • School Professional Development Plan Committee Member
    • Responsible for reviewing the school’s Professional Development Plan for 2009-2010 and creating the plan for 2010-2011.

    • Teach all aspects of music ensemble with an added emphasis on the brass section.  Chaperone student trips.  Instruct and assist with marching technique and drill execution.

-         Scotch Plains- Fanwood High School, Park Middle School, Terrill Middle School; grades 6-12

  • Selected repertoire and rehearsed music with three high school ensembles, conducted at spring concert, taught group lessons in all instruments at both middle school and high school, designed curriculum and taught theory course at high school, chaperoned after school trips.
