Music Skills
- Professional trombonist with ability to play classical, jazz, and pop styles.
- Able to play all band instruments at a competent beginner level.
- Can lead instrumental ensembles of all types in a variety of repertoire
- Able to accompany beginning student performers on piano.
- Strong theoretical background able to teach beginning theory to AP level classes.
- Knowledge of all areas of music history and world music, especially 20th Century and Pop music.
Technology Skills
- General Programs – Have experience using the Microsoft Office Suite 2007
- Music Programs – Advanced knowledge using Sibelius, Cubase. Working knowledge of Pro Tools, Garage Band, Logic, and Finale, and would be able to quickly learn any similar software.
- Audio/Visual Equipment – Able to use, set up, manage, and teach students a variety of A/V equipment including PA Systems, mobile recording studios, and video cameras.
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong ability to listen to coworkers and students. Able to communicate with both groups effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work with sensitivity among a diverse staff and in a multicultural environment.
- Dedicated team player willing to help other workers and be flexible in any environment.
Leadership Skills
- Goal driven worker able to lead staff members in a collaborative environment.
- Able to plan and execute projects within Small Learning Communities for student achievement.
- Strong work ethic and ability to model this ethic for students and colleagues.
